Pond and waterfalls

Lake & Pond Management

Whether it is a small entry waterfall to a subdivision, a park pond, or a large urban lake or reservoir, AC&T utilizes an intergrated management approach to successfully maintain water aesthetic quality. Because AC&T has a State-licensed laboratory and a staff of twelve chemists and biologists, water quality monitoring serves as the basis of any management plan. Water chemistry, biological composition, and physical conditions are monitored to select the optimum management techniques. Paramaters such as temperature and oxygen profiles, algae composition and density, zooplankton forms, and nutrient concentrations are essential elements of most monitoring plans. AC&T's NALMS-certified lake manager creates or reviews all plans for completeness. Detailed narrative reports containing all field and laboratory data are provided to the client for documentation.

Should chemical or biological agents be required to maintain or restore water quality, AC&T has four state-licensed applicators. Common conditions requiring treatments include surface algae blooms, filamentous (string) algae, submerged aquatic weeds, and midge flies or mosquitoes. Based on field and laboratory results, AC&T selects the most appropriate products and dosages to provide the best results at the lowest cost. AC&T has the ability to sample, positively identify, and treat for the potentially fishery-devastating toxic golden algae (Prymnesium parvum and related species).
